Dear Katy,

Created by David 3 years ago
It's Friday afternoon 4 or 5 years ago and I am stuck beyond 5.00pm in the Central Family Court before a judge who’s forgotten several of the advocates have told him they would not be available the following week. He decides we will have to continue now. I finally stagger out of the building at 10 to 6, feeling drained. I am going to be very late meeting my wife for dinner. Today’s her birthday.  I am laden with so many bundles I promptly drop them all over the pavement. And when I am literally on my hands and knees outside First Avenue House, suddenly dear Katy, there you are rescuing me, lifting me up, gathering together my bundles and carrying the half of them back to chambers with me. A small, unlooked-for act of kindness from a woman of great integrity I am proud to call colleague and friend.
Adieu
David
