Katy always had time. No matter what was going on, she'd pause what she was doing to have a chat, talk something through, devise a plan, share a story, particularly for us juniors. Ever keen for the next challenge, a few years ago Katy decided it was time she learnt a musical instrument. For some reason, of all the instruments, she decided this should be the violin. One e-bay click later, she had a very shiny violin. Some fun afternoons were had with me attempting to tune it every time I went into chambers, but it was like painting the Forth Bridge. I will continue to hear Katy's distinctive voice - cracking a joke, using a string of expletives, being outraged for me whenever something goes wrong in a case. I will miss her greatly. Hannah G
