I was deeply saddened to learn of Katy's passing, the more so since I did not know of her illness. She was passionate about her cases and always gave her utmost to help families in trouble. Away from the courtroom I never saw Katy without a smile of her face. Laughter always featured in our gossip and conversations, but she was, at heart, a quiet and unassuming person.
